Birmingham’s newest and loudest bar is now open! The Boogie Shed boasts an open patio area, a giant fibreglass giraffe… and a funky basement venue lit by a colour-shifting light installation centred on InStyle’s vibrant LED tubes.

Take a look at the fantastic results in our new blog…

The display uses a collection of InStyle’s self-contained 300-degree LED light-tubes, in mixed half-metre and one-metre lengths. Suspended at offset angles, each polycarbonate tube unit houses a run of RGBW LEDs, offering full colour mixing.

A bespoke array of DMX colour-change sequences (‘scenes’) was preprogrammed by the InStyle team, giving the Boogie Shed’s basement its own unique vibe.

The colour programmes can be triggered and switched by fingertip control, using one of our handy SUSHI DMX controllers.

(The controller is paired with a series of 4-channel DMX receivers, which communicate the colour mixing/sequencing instructions to each LED light tube.)

“The Boogie Shed promises to really shake up nights out in the future,” says Curf Ogunnusi, who owns and runs the venue in collaboration with Ed Davis. “It is more than just a nightclub though we will of course, be open late every Friday and Saturday night until 4am and using a pool of local talent in terms of DJs and performers plus bringing international acts.
