Eye see LEDs – optician display lights by InStyle

[/fusion_title][fusion_text]This optician’s store in the Seychelles has just brightened up its shelves and display lighting using 24 metres of white LED strip lights from InStyle.

This shade of white was chosen to coordinate with the store’s cypress shelving. The LED strips pull 10 watts per metre, which outputs an ideal level of brightness for highlights and feature lighting.

The LED strips were installed under each shelf, to provide downlighting for the product range. In order to avoid a ‘light-dotting’ effect, the strips were housed in thin surface-mounted aluminium extrusions. These serve to diffuse the light from the LEDs, creating a smooth light-bar effect.

Display lighting for stores

Anyone who owns a store or other customer-facing business knows the importance of presenting products in the best possible light. But a traditional display-lighting installation can be an expensive investment and once fitted, it can be a big job to redesign / reconfigure as business needs change.

That’s one reason why LED strip lights have become an increasingly popular store-lighting solution over the past decade. They’re a low-cost, low-energy solution and each metre of LED tape outputs an impressive level of brightness. (We typically recommend 5-watt or 10-watt white LED strips for display lighting, which will offer up to 360 / 720 lumens per metre, respectively.)

As well as the Seychelles store above, InStyle have provided LED display lights for other stores and retailers including fashion brand Hot!MeSS, jeweller Sarama James, and a shopwindow display for Dior’s London flagship store.
