Instyle LED lights Northumbria Police Headquarters outdoor art feature

Leading architect James Ritchie was called in to add lighting to the art feature.

The Northumbria Force use a strap line of ‘Total Policing’ and suggested a circular piece encompassing all. The feature itself is made from polished stainless steel and curved glass. The inside of the large ring has a series of words cut out of the stainless steel to allow light to shine through onto the steel sphere in the centre of the feature.

James Ritchie choose to use Instyle’s high powered 15W per metre LED Tape. 10m of the Blue LED Tape was used for the inner ring, to give a blue effect and to shine onto the stainless steel sphere. The blue is associated with the Police force. For the outside of the ring 10M in total of Instyle’s high powered 15W warm white LED Tape was used. The transformers for the LED tape were mounted inside the outer ring.

The overall effect is stunning giving exactly the visual effect the architect was looking for.
