Drop Ceilings, Coffers & Feature Panels – a gallery of LED lighting effects
This full house refurbishment uses LEDs installed on a variety of lateral surfaces – drop ceilings, coffers, media panels and other features – to create some fantastic lighting effects.
The multizone installation, by our friends at Propserve, utilises InStyle’s 10-watt RGBW LED tape. Each room or zone is independently controlled by its own plug-&-play RGBW LED controller/receiver kit.
The Bedroom
By adding a lowered ‘false ceiling’, the installers created an attractive coffer-effect space where LEDs can be fitted.
The old bedroom
The resulting coffer-light feature not only offers full control of ambience and colour – it also opens out the room, creating an added sense of space.

The Cinema Room
A raised media-panel mounting for the high-end LED TV is at the heart of this impressive cinema room.
When the panel’s construction was complete, RGBW LED strips were fitted around it (positioned out of sight to shine back onto the facing wall).

The Cloakroom
This compact space uses a similar lowered-ceiling coffer to the bedroom. Complementing the window’s natural light, it adds lovely reflective effects to the sleek, cool tiling.

The Ensuite
Hidden LEDs fitted laterally around a raised false-wall inset create a unique textured light wash on this bare brick-surface feature.
The Front Room
These pictures of the front room’s renovation show the end-to-end construction of a lowered ‘false ceiling’ and the installation of LED strip lights.

The Bathroom
