Brilliant Bathroom
LED strips give any bathroom a crisp clean look. Karyn has kindly sent us pics of her sleek new en suite installation.
Karyn used 1.5 metres of InStyle’s 15-watt white LED tape, splashproof (IP65-rated). She chose a warm-white shade (around 2600-2700 Kelvin), similar to traditional incandescent lighting, to give the room a cosy feel.
The LED strip is mounted in a thin surface aluminium extrusion with a diffused cover, creating a smooth light-bar effect. Karyn’s electrician cut out a small section of the ceiling towards the back of shower, so the extrusion could be installed higher and hidden.
Power for the 12-volt LED strip comes from a 30W transformer.
