All of Instyle’s LED products require a transformer to power them. This is because our LED tape runs at either 12v or 24v, as opposed to 240v (mains power) . We have a wide selection of transformers with different wattages in stock – from a 30w up to a 600w. This range makes installation easier for each unique project, and also helps reduce the cost of a complete installation by allowing for less transformers.

Not only are transformers available in various physical sizes, we also stock a choice of styles our customers can choose from, depending on the application they have.

One type of transformer that we offer is a plastic build, just like a laptop transformer. These are not IP-rated (non waterproof), and are ideal for internal use.  These drivers tend to be physically smaller than our equivalent IP-rated transformers. They’re available (in stock) from 30w up to 100w, and are supplied with a 1m cable and 3-pin plug on them, ready to be simply plugged into a plug socket. If required, the 3-pin plug can be cut off so your electrician can wire directly to a 240-volt mains feed.

2)
The 2nd type of LED transformer that we offer are our IP67-rated models (waterproof). These are commercial grade, supplied in a sealed metal casing and are fully enclosed. They come with two bare cables 200mm long on the input and  output of the transformer, ready for you to extend as required. If you wish, you can wire a plug onto the input cable. These sealed power supplies are available from 30w up to 100w.

3)
The 3rd type of transformer available is our commercial-grade higher wattage transformers transformer range (non-IP). These are supplied in metal cases but are not fully sealed, so should be used for interior projects only. These power supplies are ideal for larger LED installations – they are available from 150w to 600w. Supplied with open terminals for the customer to connect accordingly.
