Alpine Glow – Chamonix Valley chalet installs InStyle LEDs
Nestled deep in France’s Chamonix Valley, the Chalet Prarion offers luxurious family-friendly ski-in ski-out accommodation – with brilliant lighting by InStyle LED.
With a mix of fully-integrated LED lighting products, Mark at SARL Leyshon has complemented the chalet’s warm Alpine atmosphere… to create the perfect base for a luxury holiday on the slopes.
Mark’s lighting design is centred on 22 metres of 15-watt colour-changing (RGB) LED tape, which he used to enhance the chalet’s open staircase, entrance hall, ski treatments room and cinema room. A combination of RGB up/down wall lights and directional spots complete the feature effect.
All the LED lighting is powered by a pair of IP-rated 24V Mean Well transformers. Control is managed through two wall-mounted RGB controllers, with an additional DMX wall control linked to the chalet’s existing DMX system.
We modified the six spotlights to meet the bespoke requirements of Mark’s installation – by replacing their standard RGB LEDs with dimmable warm white LED bulbs, to be controlled via standard household dimmer units.

Set in private grounds in the luxury ski resort of Les Houches, right on the edge of the Aillouds blue piste, Chalet Prarion offers accommodation for up to 12 people. Ski in and ski out from the ground floor entrance hall, and enjoy the benefits of cinema projection, a superb games room, a sunken hydro therapy hot tub, and a warm and cosy interior with a central log fire place.
