Wireless Internet
Almost everyone is connected to the internet these days, and most of us connect to the internet using Wi-Fi. Scientists in Scotland are currently working on the idea of using an alternative method to Wi-Fi known as Li-Fi, which means they will be using LED lights that are programmed to send and receive data by flicking on and off again at very high speeds. This will have the benefits of being much faster than Wi-Fi and be more secure.
Digital Wallpaper
The electronic company Philips is currently working on LED technology that turns your walls into an interactive wall. What this means is that the colour of the wall can change for different moods or occasions, display messages and even sync up to your music.
LED Floors
Just like the digital wallpaper, LED floors can be interactive by changing colour and displaying messages etc, but with the LED floor when you are walking over it you can have that area change colour or leave a foot print trail.
LED Grow Lights
Using LED lights to help farmers grow their crops allows them to grow much more for less, as the LED lights use less power and last much longer than the traditional grow light technologies. The LED lighting system is more efficient at creating the right wavelengths of light that is necessary for planets to photosynthesise.
Wirelessly Controlled LED Bulbs
Installing an LED light bulbs into your home is really easy as they use the same fittings as your traditional incandescent light bulbs. But not only do the LED bulbs give you savings on the amount of power they use and much longer life cycles, some LED bulbs like the Philips Hue give you the option of controlling them with your smart phone or tablet devices, so you can simply turn them on or off with your phone or change the colour at will using their app.
