Kitchen:
The InStyle LED tape is ideal to be used in the kitchen. It is the perfect solution to replace fluorescent tubes, halogen lighting, etc. It can be used as ‘working light’ when installed under cabinets or from the ceiling, this means that the light is bright enough to clearly see while doing general tasks e.g. cooking. The LED tape needs to be about as bright as fluorescent tubes. The ideal LED tape for this application is the 15W. As a kitchen has the possibility of moisture from steam and spills we recommend the IP67 coated type.
Another possibility for using the LED tape in a kitchen would be under the skirting boards or above cabinet lighting as feature lighting. This lighting doesn’t need to be as bright as fluorescent lighting as it is not being used as the main light source. We would recommend using the 5W type LED tape for single colour or the 7.2w for the RGB type. Regarding using warm or pure white for a kitchen really go down to people’s personal preference. The warm white LED tape gives off a more ‘homely’ feel. Where as the pure white LED tape gives a more ‘cool’, ‘modern’ feel.
Bathroom:
All LED tapes that are being used in a bathroom we would recommend the IP67 type (waterproof) due the the steam and moisture. The LED can be used around mirrors or around baths to creature feature and mood lighting. For the single colour options we would recommend the standard 5W per metre type and for the RGB LED tape the standard 7.2w type. The LED tape can be used in bathroom cabinets with a frosted finish the create a stunning effect and give you the option to change the colour of the cabinet with a wireless controller.
Living room:
The LED tape can be used to create fantastic features in your living room. If you have a new build designing a drop down ceiling combined with LED tape can create a stunning effect. Alternatively creating a coving around the edge of your ceiling can create a fantastic feature once fitted with the LED tape. The LED being so small and discreet can also be fit into existing furniture. For example lighting up a bookcase can make an old piece of furniture right up top date and modern. Another popular effect in modern living rooms is fitting the RGB LED tape around the edge of your T.V to create a halo effect.
Bedroom:
Again with the LED tape being so thin an flexible it can be fit almost anywhere Popular choices for the bedroom include, behind headboards and under bed lighting. If using the RGB 7.2w LED tape combined with the RGB wireless controller you can change the colour of the lighting whilst remaining in bed!
Garden:
With the LED tape available in a IP67 (waterproof) type this makes it ideal for being used exterior. Being IP67 this means the LED tape is fully waterproof but cannot be fully submersed (in ponds etc). The LED tape can be used to mark out pathways, used around decking to create special features and much much more.
The uses for the LED tape are pretty much endless. InStyle LED will also offer soldering and cutting – so you can supply us with your required cut lengths and we can do the rest. Call today for any technical advise or questions that you may have on 0116 2799083
