In this video, we run down some great tips for installing and using white LED lights in your kitchen

Check out our new vlog above.

Top advice before buying white LED strip lights for your kitchen!

In today’s vlog, we’re going to look at some great tips for using white LED lights in your kitchen.

Which colour to use

This is down to personal preference. However, if you are unsure, then a good tip is to check out the colour temperature of your LED / halogen downlights in the room and go for the same colour!

If you do not have downlights or are unsure on colour, or if you really want to try something new, the safest and most popular colour is 4000k neutral white. This has no blue or warm tint to it, and shows the true colours of your room / paint / cupboards.

Which brightness to use

Check out our available brightness options here: https://www.instyleled.co.uk/white-led-tape/

  • Plinth lighting – 5w
  • Under-cabinet lights – 10w (high bright feature) /12w working light
  • Above cabinet lights – 5w / 10w (if a dimmer is installed)
  • Kitchen island – 10w

Where to use

  • Plinth lighting
  • Under cabinet lighting
  • Above cabinet lighting
  • Kitchen island
  • Coving / drop ceiling

When to use an aluminium profile:

  • Use if reflecting off the floor tiles
  • Or if strip can be seen

How to wire:

Most cost effective and simple installation option: wire all areas that you want to switch on / off together back to one single power supply.

If you want multiple areas, controlled independently, then wire a power supply for each area.

How to Dim :

Check out the available dimming options here: https://www.instyleled.co.uk/single-colour-controllers/

  • Rotary dimmer
  • RF remote
  • RF multizone remote
  • Battery RF wall controller
  • 240v RF wall controller
